A vintage railway coach houses this unique permanent exhibit where visitors are introduced to the rich history of Berkshire County and to the locations where that history can be revisited. Truly a gateway, the museum is easily accessible from the Massachusetts Turnpike and close by important Gilded Age sites. The electronic map shows how to reach 24 of them. Open weekends and holidays 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend till Columbus Day, admission free, with free parking. Located at the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum's Lenox Station, east end of Housatonic St. 1.5 miles east of Route 7/20, Lenox.
